Citizenship Grades (Inside Gradebook)

The yellow citizenship icon is no longer available on the start page of PowerSchool Teacher.  You will need to do citizenship grades within your gradebook.  You can find instructions here:

Verification Sheets

You print your own verifications and turn them into the Counseling Office on the last day all grades are due (may vary by site).

Exempt Scores

When you enter on the scoresheet for a student “Ex” on an assignment, this means the student is exempt from the assignment.  This assignment will NOT appear in parent portal.  You can also use the menu to do a “Exempt” and will do the same thing.  Previously when you entered “Ex” for the assignment, it would still list it in Parent/Student portal, but in the new upgrade, it treats “Ex” differently and removes it from the list of assignments parents see.  This is good for all those teachers that do “differentiated” teaching.  However, if you just leave the assignment score blank, the assignment WILL appear on Parent Portal but as “--/30” (dashes).  The assignment does not calculate yet to the final grade (only if you put a score or 0), but it will still be visible to the parent.

Comments (Mass Input)

As I mentioned before you can now do mass adding of comments, but please be very careful when you do this.   You can find instructions here:

Parent/Student Portal Assignment View

Both student and parents can view your published assignments.  When you add score codes and comments, they will see this with different symbols.

Sorting

Previously in PowerGrade, the scoresheet window could be sorted.  However, in PTG, sorting in the scoresheet is not possible.  The only place that you can be sort by column title is the Students tab.

Special Characters for Assignments

Previously in PowerGrade, special characters, such as “/”, “M”, etc could be defined in the gradebook to symbolize missing assignment(s), cheating, etc.  However, in PowerTeacher Gradebook, special characters cannot be defined.  Only the set Score Inspector assignment codes can be used.  See Parent/Student Portal Assignment View below for complete list.
